SHELTER DIVISION #1 starts off the series with a familiar-yet-entertaining premise about a covert team of inhuman crime fighters working to solve a high-tech conspiracy. Theres plenty of action, strong character designs, and plot movement. That said, the story tries to do too much too fast, and the art has some weaknesses, particularly in the coloring. Getting a whole story down in three issues in today's story compressed times is difficult, especially given the breakneck speed that this issue moves along at. Salley may be hoping that there is enough of the characters on show to make the reader want to return to not just this series, but future runs which may give up the teams origins. If this is the aim, then the book kind of achieves it, with a couple of nice ideas and workable art. Read Full Review
Shelter Division is an excellent title in the way it makes us want to know more about the characters we meet as well as make us want to know just what is going on here! I understand this is Mr. Salley's first venture into this genre and, given this issue, I expect many more stories along these lines will terrify and grip us in the time ahead. Read Full Review
