Jody Houser continues to impress with her knowledge of pop culture television. I loved the part of this issue when Rose Tyler talks herself up to the 8th Doctor in order to try and get into the mindset of the Empress. I loved how she referenced her first year of adventures with the 9th Doctor and referenced herself as The Bad Wolf who looked into the eye of the time vortex. Read Full Review
DOCTOR WHO: EMPIRE OF THE WOLF #3 improves on the narrative flow and infuses the main villain with relatable nuance for an entertaining entry in the series. Houser rightly avoids the overused villain is just misunderstood trope by allowing the consequences of Evil Roses actions to create conflict on multiple fronts. The art is great and does proper justice to the real-life actors. Read Full Review
Things are heating up! It looks like war is on the horizon as old enemies and new rivalries are revealed. We learn that Empress Rose has made some mistakes and the 8th Doctor confirms that he'll probably be leaving this adventure with no memory of it, just as I predicted in my review for the previous issue. The real skill Jody Houser and Roberta Ingranata have is just making these stories effortlessly feel like authentic Doctor Who stories. I say effortless, but I know they obviously take a lot of talent and application, but they make it feel to us, the reader, so authentic and real. Great scripting as always, even better Doctor(s) characterisation, and nice clean, clear artwork and pacing. Fab stuff. Read Full Review
