Manga publishing pioneer Tokyopop is back... bringing readers Disney Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, a retelling of the film in manga-style. Hardcover collectible with exclusive bonus features and illustrations from renowned artist Jun Abe! Alice Kingsleigh was a young girl when she visited the magical world of Underland for the first time. Now a teenager, she spots a white rabbit at a garden party and tumbles down a hole after him where she is reunited with her old friends. Alice soon learns it is her destiny to end the Red Queen's reign of terror.
Despite the flaws in the story, Disney Manga: Alice in Wonderlandis a better version of Burton's movie. The action sequences feel dynamic, the characters are updated but still retain their bizarre whimsy, and Alice is much more likable. If you haven't seen the movie, but love Alice in Wonderland, then this is a manga you will enjoy. If you did see the movie, beware that a lot of the plot issues still exist but overall this is still a fun read and a must for super fans of Carroll's novel, like me. Read Full Review
