    Closed Curtain is more an attempt, it seems to me, for this massively creative man to come to terms with his home country trying to destroy his creative rights. The sad thing is that the film isn't as entertaining as you'd hope and the choice to make pointless scenes longer than they should rather than stretching out the scenes that really could have been longer hurts the effect on the viewer. You understand fully what he is trying to say and wonder if his experiences have hurt him too much for his talent to break fully free. I will give credit for the symbolism that he manages to show us and his own appearance in the film is tender and sweet, with a clear message coming right at the end that the man has decided what needs to be done next, and we hope with all the hope that we have in our cinema bones that his next film will give us more. For no reason other than to give him support and maybe you'll find more in this film than I did, get out and see this, and check out the history of J Read Full Review
