  A fast-paced and fascinating volume, Emperor Penguin delivers a solid crime drama without too many distracting and unnecessary frills. Batman feels like the detective we all talk about him being, and while that competence may not be necessary for every story of the Dark Knight, its certainly great to see it play out in the landscape of DCs titles today.
