Rykaal is a war criminal on his homeworld and is sentenced to exile in space where after flying through the cosmos he crash lands on Earth. Rykaal is meet by disbelief and fear, which is completely believably reaction. After Earth's armies attack Rykaal and fail miserably to defeat him, the Governments decide to cede control of the world to him. The book has the potential to build into a major sci-fi epic as at the end of book one we are introduced to an invading alien army that leaves the reader waiting to see what happens next.
