The dialogue heavy nature of the book reminded me of something Brian Michael Bendis would pen, but the illustrations by Larkin Ford are basic at best. The characters hold form, but the backgrounds are completely void. The pages also lack enough panels with wide blank spots, which don't make the best first impression on me. These illustrations fail to make a favorable impression on me, and even though the dialogue is witty and creative, I wouldnt pay money to read this book. Hopefully McKinney can find an illustrator that can strengthen the book next year, because the first impression from this Free Comic Book issue is that it was barely worth the price paid for it.
