    One of the things I really like about Hack/Slash is when the creators of the book manage to work out a crossover with a real horror movie character, and although I havent actually seen the Hatchet movies, I was looking forward to this book. The results werent bad. Cassie and Vlad are called to New Orleans to take out the mysterious Victor Crowley, a slasher who seems to be responsible for the deaths of dozens of people in the past few years. When they arrive, however, they find that Victor himself is a victim of sorts, although of a far more human and far more insidious foe. Although I liked the story for the most part, there was one thing that really stuck in my craw as a New Orleans-area native. A large part of the book deals with the Hyperdome, an obvious analogue for the Superdome, that is still in a state of chaos, disrepair, and squalor due to Hurricane Katrina. Guys? Its been six years.
