Though this comic is small press, Im not treating it with massively different standards to what I would a comic from Marvel, DC, Image etc. The printing may not be professional quality, but the story is interesting and entertaining and the art has character. Theres undoubtedly a certain charm to comics such as this (including the odd typo), but in the end, the quality of the story is what is most important, and Mercury is a quality story. On the whole, this is not a book I would continue with. The story is too much of a thinly-veiled riff on the Flash and Watchmen-style superhero-disillusionment without anything new to add the conversation. It was a warning sign that the Editor-In-Chief for the book was Allen Smithee"this book doesn't seem like it's anyone's baby, it just reads like a paint-by-numbers superhero book.
