The Light Princess has a spellbinding premise which can propel this story into our collective memory due to a sweet departure from the superhero norm for comic books, however it is not without its faults. While the adaptation and artistry stand out due to their ability to express the bitter sweetness of the genre, it is the display of words which detracts from the pure pleasure which we should have been able to establish from the beginning. If the reader has to stumble over normal words all in an exaggerated effort to denote feelings, then the artistic staff did not create a sincere expression of the story, but in this case, the two forces clash in a meaningless effort and spoil what could have been a well meaning fairy tale.
