Boy Blue continues his dark and dangerous quest to find his lost love through lands wrecked and ravaged by the Adversary's evil will. But Blue will stop at nothing to find her, even when the enemies set before him grow increasingly more deadly.
Mark Buckingham turns in some lovely work on this issue. The opening pages are exciting as Blue has to employ some rather unconventional manoeuvres to defeat this dragon. There's also an absolutely amazing establishing shot of the city where our paper pushers work, and the level of detail on this page alone would have sold me on the idea that Mark Buckingham is perfect artist for this series if I hadn't already been of this opinion. There's also a wealth of cool little visual touches like the little sound-effect that appears whenever Blue uses his magic sword to dispatch one of his opponents. I'm also delighted to see the return of the panel borders, as they do a lovely job of capturing the visual appearance of the various realms that Blue moves through. The art also manages to do a pretty fair job of building up a sense of impending danger, as we get our first look at the threat that is awaiting Blue's impending arrival.
