New storyline! Tom Taylor is back in London hoping to connect with his father at the launch of his new novel. But he's not the only one: The Cabal has sent their hit man to kill Wilson Taylor if he appears. And as other monsters converge on Tom, he starts to realize that he's walked into not one trap but two...
The two co-conspirators Mike and Peter are so adept at weaving all of this convoluted plot twisting together, it's hard not to love even a comparatively dry and expositional chapter in this story, like #13. This issue may not have you quite as near to the edge of your seat, but it serves its purpose in getting readers caught back up to speed and in sewing the seeds of year two's plot line. I nearly gave up on "The Unwritten," but the beginning of its second year is as strong as the beginning of its first. With some basic relationships and foundations laid, Mike Carey and Peter Gross push things forward at a breakneck pace, making for the most exciting issue of the series to date. Read Full Review
