Futaba Yoshioka thought all boys were loud and obnoxious until she met Kou Tanaka in junior high. But as soon as she realized she really liked him, he had already moved away because of family issues. Now in high school, she meets Kou again, but is he still the same boy she fell in love with?

Overall Ao Haru Ride Volume 1 offers a different take on the usual shojo tropes and proves an interesting read. Unfortunately some of the artwork isnt the best, and your interest in the series will hinge on how much you like Futaba as a lead, but regardless Im looking forward to seeing where the manga goes from here. Its just a shame that Kou isnt slightly more likable. Read Full Review
