    This volume proves just how dark things have gotten for Norman since leaving Grace Field House. He is perfectly fine with genocide, even if Emma isn’t. Ray seems to be ambivalent but will go with whatever Emma decides, which is a turn from the beginning of the series when Ray had such strong feelings that he struck a deal with Mom before anyone else. There is a little bit of filler in this volume when Emma and Ray have to reassure every different group of characters that they are serious about their need to save all the living creatures, humans and demons alike.
