I find his figures to be a bit stiff, and a little too stone-faced during the moments of high emotion, but Sean Phillips has really moved up my list of artists whose names I'm glad to see attached to a project, as he's a very reliable artist when it comes to capturing the darker mood of the projects that he seems to work on. With his heavy shadowing and fine eye for delivering the more horrific visuals (e.g. the series of panels where the werewolf creature rips a man apart), Sean Phillips is a near perfect fit for this book, as it seems to be quite happy to play on the darker side of the alley.
