Fashionable and upbeat high schooler Aya falls head over heels for an employee at a local CD shop. He's got an air of mystery about him, always dressed well, and has impeccable taste in music. Little does she know-this supposedly male employee is actually her female classmate Mitsuki! Mitsuki generally keeps to herself, but since her seat is right next to Aya's, she can't help but be extremely aware of the other's crush. Revealing the truth is out of the question-but perhaps getting closer to Aya wouldn't be so bad...
Sumiko Arai's The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn't a Guy at All is the perfect blend of romance and music. While it does rely on some familiar tropes for its foundation, the romance manga's snappy pacing and charming characters make for an enjoyable read. Read Full Review
The Guy She Was Interested in Wasnt a Guy At All is a great first read, with its unique, eye-catching style, and really niche but relatable love for Western music. The pacing sometimes gets in the way of the storytelling, but overall Im looking forward to see how this romance develops more in Volume 2, due out February 2025. Read Full Review
