Plot
Based on true events, this comic reimagines the investigation into the Sleep Lagoon Murder, where racism against Latinos, combined with abuse of power, led to a series of injustices.
This story takes place in 1943, when the U.S. prioritized the war, so many social injustices were overshadowed and hidden.
At that time, the derogatory term "Pachuco" referred to Mexicans living in Texas who wore suits with wide shoulders and tight legs, along with feathered hats. It was a countercultural movement, a blend of jazz, swing, and Latin roots, that was harshly criticized by other sectors of society.
