  This is a really solid chapter in the iron man mythos. It's nice seeing Tony in such an important role to the marvel universe.

  It was mostly boring, but there were many fine moments too. It's cool, that the title of the book was justified and you never forget here that Stark is the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. But it was also a bad thing for me as well. I guess it makes the run unique, and it's unique indeed, there's a lot of horror and detective elements, espionage and politics. However, I really do prefer other Iron Man comics. More... personal. And it's not like that many things happened here. The Mandarin arc was too long, extremis powers were disabled most of the time, some moments felt too similar and not needed at all (for example, too many nuclear explosions and global to-be catastrophes, many Resident Evil moments also). Other things just felt random. I also hate that there was no consistent artist and the ones this series had were either okay or just mediocre. I definitely liked only the one from that WWH tie-in. Oh, yeah, tie-ins. For such a short series there were too many of them. The book doesn't feel like a solid and complete story. And the most embarrassing thing is the fact that the Secret Invasion War Machine tie-in was better, than most of Tony Stark arcs. more
