Vol. 2 turns World Piece into a space opera adventure story, introducing the Nurulan alien Exxo and her alien pet Cel, characters with a rebellious streak who wouldn't be out of place in Spera. The artwork has a genuine manga look here.

The series becomes increasingly inventive with Vol. 3, including a basketball game on an alien planet, a running montage set to scenes from Earth, and a butterfly conservatory on a secret government spaceship. The character banter is charming and addicting.

A whole new (shrunken) world filled with charming characters and interesting classics. An adventure story that's like a cross between Bone and '90s manga.
