Reginald Hudlin's start to this series effectively communicates the people and intentions of the story, and John Romita's dynamic and contrasting art only adds to the mood of the panels. Although the abrupt cliff hanger leaves much to be desired, practically leaving the fate of Wakanda in the air, the espionage and battles that culminated from decades of revenge from colonialists were exhilarating. However, not all character relations are not particularly obvious, like Klaw's relationship to the colonialist in the beginning of the series. Furthermore, the plans taken by characters don't necessarily make too much sense, like Cannibal's use of a prostitute's body to recruit the devout Black Knight. But even with these small faults, the political commentaries of the story are not hard to miss and add a sense of satisfaction, especially when Klaw's plot fails. |
