My Beloved Supper (2025) OGN

Feb 6, 2026

I bought the physical copy. It is a lovely lighthearted book following Yoru Hioka(mc) and how he'd only target criminals for his meals. The art is outrageously gorgeous, so gorgeous that I'm jealous. Plot wise— I wouldn't say it is plot based, and I wished there was more content on the college student boarding there(I forgot his name). The timestamps are confusing, following two of the chapters, the first of which where Yoru says he's "drank too much" (drinking too much victims' blood)in a while and see the chief detective inspect the first victim ever since. The time stamps clash together. The second case is when they had an unnecessary 10 year time skip on the last chapter, yet not mention it anywhere. You'd have to recognize it yourself. In the last chapter, they mentioned that the college student graduated ten years ago, and also Sonoe-san had gotten shorter and her shoulder blades shorter too— her face also changed. The detective is careless when it comes to working with Yoru, yet he has not been caught yet. Another strange thing is that apparently Yoru met Sonoe when she was young, but in one of the panels, she looks about 5 years old because how short she is and how young she looks. Another thing, we're only informed that more than two people know that Yoru is a vampire last chapter— feels out of nowhere and unnecessary and removes the illusion of mystery. The inconsistencies are very uncanny when I noticed them, but it is no reason to not enjoy this manga. Though I do think that Sonoe and Yoru being sortof a thing and only being mentioned last chapter was very weird. I really loved the aloof image Yoru had for himself meanwhile his personality is completely different. I loved the food scenes, and his quirky traits. Him working with the detective was the cherry on top in my opinion. There are human trafficking mentions, violence harassment, murder and more so disrection advised.Although the pacing of this manga is strange, don't let that throw you off!!
