Intriguing premise, dynamic art. I cane into this first issue hesitant but after the big reveal towards the end of the book um definitely back for issue two. I read this online and immediately bought my copy afterwards. |

Batman: Three Jokers (2020) #2

A great issue on its own but it did not live up to the madness and shock value of issue 1. the opening scene with the comedian was phenomenal and anytime the jokers interact with eachother is a nail biter. I hope issue 3 has as big of an impact as isdue one if not better. |

Her Infernal Descent #2

Her Infernal Descent #2 is by no means a action packed fight through hell, but a journey through hell. That's the mistake people expect in this book. This book wonderfully dives you into obvious religious virtues while reflecting on social issues... And theirs alot of rhyming so that's always fun. HID isnan intriguing adventure and adds a psychological twist on heaven and hell. In conclusion, issue three couldn't come sooner. |

Batman (2016): The Joker War Zone #1

Out of the 5 short stories in this book only one of them is good, and thats the first one by James Tynion. its complex and challenging but after that this book is irrelevant to jokwrwar nor does it have any real relevance at all. its all set up for 2021 events but its not done well (except for the first story). not worth the price. dont read and don't buy. |

Venom (2018) #30
Nov 19, 2020 |
Cates and Company finally concluded their alt universe arc "Beyond", and as much as i love this series, this arc (tied with the war of the realms arc by Ellis) is the all time low point of the all time low point of the last 30 issues. The art still felt amateur and no different then the last illustrator. It felt too.. rush and inconsistent.. too animated. And I'm all for the style but not in this execution. In regards to the script, we all know from issues 1-10 and Absolute Carnage, Cates writes some good a** venom; So what changed? The arc was rushed, the dialogue was really choppy and bad. For example, read only the dialogue from virus in his appearances and its... anything but depth or purpose. This arc feels like wasted time for king in black and I'm happy its over. Adding to this, every issue after Absolute Carnage hasn't felt the same. Where is the co-dependence? Where is the dark edgy grit we started off with? And I'm not talking coloring, as horrible as the art is in this issue this entire arc had freaking phenomenal coloring, just so happened to no be complimented with the bad pencils. All in all... we're done. Two more weeks for the king in black to arrive. GOD US HERE. |
