DCeased #1 |

I give this series a 10/10! It had a more serious tone than Marvel Zombies from about 10 years ago or so? That was just comical and hilarious at certain points but DC has always been the more serious of the 2 anyway. Most definitely recommend it. Spoilers, don't read beyond the next 10 lines or so: Deaths of beloved characters and how the rest interact with those characters was much more emotional for me than Marvel's Zombies. Issue #1, when Alfred said "I'm sorry son" that almost brought a tear to my eye. The rest of it was pretty lackluster until Issue #6 when Jon had to fight Superman, the strip before they fought was pretty emotional. Not to mention the Amazon's sacrifice, a good sacrifice always gets my emotions stirring. I think this was too short though, it could've definitely been a much longer series with more but I think the Writers were just trying to go for simple a sweet. |

Marvel Zombies: Resurrection #1 |

10 out of 10! The artwork, nostalgic feels of characters throughout the issue, story and definitely all the gore! I loved this issue more than the entire DCeased series, I love DC but something about Marvel's writing and universe is much more entertaining. DC is great, they stick to more linear and logical storytelling but I love Marvel with the vast universe it has and we're all just trying to be entertained in the end. (DC is also very dark, too dark sometimes like some of their stories are allusions of real crimes) Most definitely a great read, if you are into this genre! Spoilers, do not read the next after the next 10 lines or so: I always enjoy collaborations from other characters and casts, X-Men, Avengers and all the villains they usually take on are in this issue. Actually, screw the spoilers, just read it. This is more "haha" entertaining than the serious tone of "DCeased" where I almost cried a couple times throughout the entire storyline. |
