Superman (2011) #14

Nov 30, 2012

As was stated above, it takes very talented and extraordinary writing to make a good Superman story. Unfortunately, H’el on Earth has so far proven to lack this integral ingredient, and there doesn’t seem to be much hope that this story will improve.

Superman (2011) #15

Jan 5, 2013

Although not as bad as the Supergirl and Superboy issues, this comic merely continues what has thus far proven to be a failed story arc. In fact, the reason why this issue is better than the rest is probably due to the fact that He’l doesn’t even show up in this one. However, even the absence of this unimaginative character seems not to be enough to save this comic.

Catwoman (2011) #14

Nov 23, 2012

While it is nice to be a proud owner of the entirety of this series, this issue only shows us that the Catwoman comics aren’t a necessity. From what we can see thus far, the end result may be that one will not have to read either Catwoman #13 nor #14 and still be able to understand the rest of the story arc. Hopefully this will change as Death of the Family continues, but so far there doesn’t seem to be much hope for it.

Avengers (2012) #1

Dec 8, 2012

The company has stated that Marvel Now was not going to be a reboot, but merely a jumping-on point for new readers. The idea is that, while prior knowledge will prove to be a benefit, it will not be necessary to enjoy these issues. Avengers #1 has so far proven this to be true, and should the following issues continue in this fashion, this series will become one worth reading for any comic fan.

Earth 2 #7

Dec 8, 2012

Earth 2 #7 shows the promise of a great story arc that will focus on a fair number of different characters. In it, we are not only given the heroics of super-powered beings, but also the age-old fight between good and evil in the form of the machinations of two intelligent individuals.
