Birthright #15

Mar 23, 2016

Williamson with the help of Bressan have created a wonderful book. I look forward to seeing how the family progresses and seeing where this book takes us. I'm hopeful for a long run and to see more of Mikey's journey through Terrenos. The reveal at the end just builds on how his family has and will most likely play a big part in this series.

Black Magick #4

Feb 5, 2016

Issue 5 was a wonderful, the art was amazing and I love supernatural/detective aspects of this book. A solid 8/10 and I cannot wait to read issue 6 to find out what happens to Alex and see if Mr. Witch Hunter is who i think he is!

Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1953: Beyond The Fences #2

Mar 23, 2016

My only complaint for this book is Hellboy needs his trusty handgun. In this issue he carries a standard revolver, but I need the Samaritan to be in Hellboy's hand as he shoots his vile enemies! Other than that tiny rant I loved this issue. The art is superb and this story has a nice flow and pace. This is a book I am excited to see where Mignola is taking us and it's so refreshing to see Hellboy at the start of his career and just to see how he develops into such a badass monster killer.

I Hate Fairyland #4

Jan 21, 2016

This issue is fabulous! The art and story are so great, as the reader I can feel the anger and irritation that Queen Cloudia has for Gert. And as for Gertrude she seems almost tired of killing everything and yet still take great joy and pride in doing so. I love how this story has different fables and fairy tale people who are just generic but I love more that the covers show hilarious and yet disturbing images of what Gert does to the fables and characters we all know and love (issue 4 is Gert showing disembodied feet to a fearful prince with a glass slipper).

Old Man Logan (2016) #2

Feb 21, 2016

I am finding this book to be interesting and it is so much fun. Gritty and exciting. The art is wonderful and I am loving where the story is headed. Sorrentino has a style unlike any other and he was a awesome choice to show how gritty Logan's first encounters with the Marvel Prime characters.

Suiciders: Kings of HelL.A. #1

Apr 8, 2016

From what I have gathered this takes place during the same time period as the first Suiciders arc, so I am hopeful to seeing more of New Angeles and being reacquainted to the characters from the first story. I don't a lot to say about this first issue due to it being the first. But the one thing I do know is this new mini was a much awaited addition to my pull for the week of March 30th. With new characters like Trix and Johnny I don't know what to expect but, I know it's going to be gritty and amazing.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2011) #54

Feb 5, 2016

This issue has been the strongest issue since the decapitation of the Shredder. Starting this new arc has taken some setting up but it's finally heading in an exciting direction. It will be great to see if Mike goes back to team up with the rest of his family at the Foot and what dastardly plan Agent Bishop has for the Turtles. I give this issue an 8/10, the art is awesome (not quite as great as Santolouco art but still great). The story is taking form and I can't wait for issue #55!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2011) #56

Mar 23, 2016

Something else I notice for me personally is that when the Turtles are separated like they were issue #50-55 I don't enjoy them as much. I understand it was a building plot and needed down time for the characters as well as the amazing creators working on this book. But I am so glad to be reading this series and so pumped to what these guys have planned for our heroes!! The lead up to what is coming and the art are superb and I can't wait for issue #57!

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Deviations (One Shot) #1

Apr 8, 2016

The art by Zach Howard was a superb choice! He gave the feel of grit as the turtles mercilessly hunt for Splinter. My only gripe would be I would have liked to see Rocksteady, Bebop, Bludgeon and Koyo alongside Shredder and the Turtles to get the full effect of just how powerful Shredder's reach was and how over powered, "The Shredhead" would be after gaining the turtles. It was a great one shot and glad I got to see a "what could have been."

The Autumnlands #9

Mar 2, 2016

First off Dewey art is fabulous! He has a way of making all the animals look so real. I am new to Busiek writing but so far I have thoroughly enjoyed his writing. Only complaint I ever have of Autumnlands is the page count.

Tokyo Ghost #5

Jan 21, 2016

Murphy was a spectacular choice to do the art for this series. He focuses on the detail and doesn't waste a page. Remender has written so many wonderful titles including Black Science, Deadly Class, and Low. Tokyo Ghost is just another book I cannot wait to read in my stack and I look forward to to month after month.

Velvet #13

Feb 6, 2016

Love this issue, it was action packed. Velvet as a whole is wonderful. I look forward to each issue. Brubaker is such an amazing story teller and the art by Epting gives the story a flair of greatness! I am ready for the next issue.
