This isnt the best book Ive read recently, but its definitely worth another look next month and helps me believe the old rebel may be starting to get back in the groove after dusting off a few cobwebs. B-.

Not that some pretty pictures can totally save what is otherwise a frustrating and boring experiment gone awry. It gets a C-, worth checking out only if you are a regular reader of the Ultimate version of Spider-Man or if you want to see the best way NOT to write a comic.

In the end this isnt, at least so far, the triumphant return I would have wished for Elseworlds, but still worth a shot for anyone looking for a departure from standard Superman narratives.

Despite a few minor criticisms I can safely say that Secret Avengers is the new black and I can't wait to pick up issue #2.

Couple that with a barely there story that feels tacked on and this new volume of Avengers leaves me waiting for more... titles starring other Avengers and showcasing a totally different creative team.
