Aquaman (2016) #14

Jan 4, 2017

First things first: this artwork is a salvation in itself, especially the full page of Mera. The story was quick to read, I found myself really enjoying this issue. For anyone who has put down Aquaman I would highly recommend picking up this Deluge arc.

Curse Words #1

Jan 20, 2017

This is the book I have been waiting for, you have magic, you have a bad guy who decides he wants to be good, or at least we think hewants to be good. This book had everything you wanted out of a first issue of aseries, it gave you a good amount of information about the main character, itgave you a good amount of action and it had an ending that left you ready forthe next issue to come out. Charles Soule does a lot of good writing and thisissue he hit it out of the park, and the art in this book was phenomenal.Highly recommend to anyone who like magic, action, or just good storytelling topick this book up!

DC / Hanna-Barbera: Green Lantern/Space Ghost #1

Mar 29, 2017

All and all this book was good, really good. The art was fantastic and nostalgic of old cartoons" this is such a good book, and even the political jumps didn't make me too upset, they did pull me out the two times I noticed them"

Demonic (2016) #5

Dec 21, 2016

This whole series has been really good and this issue moved really quickly for me. I was totally gripped by the story, the art was fantastic and the ending wasn't what I expected but left me wanting to know what happens next. I had a few issues with this story having timing issues leaving you wondering how many days have actually gone by.

Demonic (2016) #6

Jan 20, 2017

This issue was so good, and as a conclusion is wrapped the story up very nicely. I only have one real issue with this story and that it was a mini-series and will not be continuing. The pacing was fantastic and Niko Walter does an amazing job with they art. I would highly recommend picking this story up, it is non-stop action through out, a great story line with fantastic art.

God Country #1

Jan 11, 2017

I didn't know what to expect when coming into this comic, but I can tell you I wasn't expecting this. This art is the kind of art thatgrows on you, because it started off as a pain point in the book when I startedbut by the end I was liking it. My favorite part about first issues of a comicis the end, was the story strong enough to pull you in, was the ending enoughto leave you wanting more? With this story the answer all the way around is yes!

The only redeeming factor for this issue was the art, this art team is fantastic and I have nothing negative to say about their work.

Green Lanterns #18

Mar 1, 2017

This issue was interesting, but not necessary. Yes, I thought it was amazing to learn that Volthoom was made into the monster he is today because of the Guardians. I also found it highly interesting to think that, without Volthoom the Lanterns of any spectrum wouldn't exist today. That's it, this issue gave me nothing to be excited about, which I am glad that it was such a good read… what makes me so upset is that I love this book, and lately we have been getting nothing for a good story, so please stop these pointless 1-3 story arcs that give us nothing and give us a good story… please I beg you Sam, right now the only thing going for you is the art in your comics and that's not enough, and while I love the villains I want more action. The art is fantastic as always, but again I am buying comics for a good story and good art… one of which is highly lacking in these books.

Hal Jordan And The Green Lantern Corps #13

Jan 25, 2017

This story went SO FAST, but that is mostly because we got nothing but recap in this issue. The best part is I actually didn't mind how this issue was, because it is the kind of story I would tell my six-year old son as a bedtime story, something to show him that no matter how bad the world can be you have the power inside of yourself to overcome your fears and defeat the evil that is out there.

I only have one thing to say About the art in this book: Ethan Van Sciver, please stay on this book… I loved the art in last issue, but Van Sciver on art duties gives this book as special feel and a very unique look.

He-Man / Thunder Cats #5

Feb 15, 2017

This is the Penultimate edition of this comic, and unfortunately our two main characters are nowhere in sight. He-Man Thundercats without either Lion-O or He-Man? What a let down. I mean this is their book, at least one of them should have shown up, well both seeing as they were together in the last issue.

Justice League (2016) #12

Jan 4, 2017

I didn't know much about Max Lord prior to reading this issue, so it was nice to learn about a character without taking anything away from the main story to give it to you. Tim Seely did an amazing job with this story and the art itself is worth the cost of the comic.

Justice League (2016) #13

Jan 18, 2017

While this story was confusing as to whether any of this actually happened or if this was all in his head while Eclipso is trying to take control of him. I am going to go with the thought that it is real, so my follow up question would be: if Steve Trevor has that much will that he can fight Eclipso's power for as long as he did why is that our Green Lanterns were taken over with ease since, you know, they harness the power of will. Mr. Seeley, you have confused me completely and I am left with more questions after reading this than I had going into it. The art on the other hand was AMAZING and easily makes this book a must read.

Justice League (2016) #17

However, like I said this issue had some problems, now while it has gotten better labeling where we are I still found myself taken out of the story by switching from place and time. I understand we have to set up for what comes next, but the way this book flowed seemed to bit off to me.

Justice League of America (2017): Rebirth #1

Feb 9, 2017

With this issue being mostly set up there wasn't much to it really. Unfortunately that was a major let down for me, we had a month of solid issues where we got to learn about most of these characters and for the first issue of the book in proper to be... so lacking was sad.

Justice League of America (2017) #1

Feb 22, 2017

The issue starts with the team off doing their own thing; Batman and Vixen having a conversation, Ray and Canary fighting a fire, Lobo fighting some volcano demons, While Frost and Ryan stay behind trying to fix the Troubalert. As soon as it is fixed the team is alerted to a situation in Saratoga and transport there to help. The Extremists however seem to be to much for our fledgling team, and right as Ryan is about to be executed, Batman steps up to take his place. Next Issue: First Blood of Lord Havoc.

Justice League of America (2017): The Atom Rebirth #1

Jan 4, 2017

My biggest concern was getting more of the same from Steve Orlando in this Justice League of America book: dialogue that doesn't quite fit the story. Yet this story leaves me full of hope for what is to come. The art on this issue is not favorite, but fits this story well so it leaves me with nothing to complain about.

Jan 18, 2017

This story is fantastic; it moves along at a quick pace butit still lets you learn about our new hero. The art is amazing, and my favoritepanels are the ones where Ray is glowing. Mr. Orlando you are outdoing yourselfwith these Justice League of America character intro books and have completelywon me over to believing that upcoming Justice League of America is a must pickup.

Loose Ends (2017) #1

Jan 25, 2017

I am not sure how I feel about this book... I was highly looking forward to reading this because the writer is a local of Charlotte,North Carolina like I am, but this dialogue felt off for me through the whole issue. The art isn't my favorite, but it isn't bad either. I know this is a four issue mini-series as well, but everything felt way to rushed as well. Now with all the negatives out of the way the book did intrigue me, it kept me interested for the whole book as well as leaving me ready to read the next issue coming out sometime in February.

Moonshine (2016) #4

Jan 11, 2017

This story is addicting and it keeps pulling you forward. With it being a period piece you have to get use to the racism and weird way ofspeaking, both of which shock you at first but are easy to get through. I lovethis art too, it does what any great art in a comic book should, it tells thestory and the best panels in this book have no words in it. With both the storyand the art keeping the readers interested:

Odyssey of the Amazons #1

Jan 25, 2017

This book was good, but it felt like it took me days to readit, but it did leave me wanting more from this story. The creative team did aGREAT job, and my favorite part of this entire issue was the dialogue boxesthat look like old parchment. Personally I didn't know what to expect whencoming into this book, the only thing I remember hearing about it was that itwasn't a Wonder Woman story. I didn't expect to open this up to war, but I didenjoy all the action sequences in this book.

Reborn #3

Dec 14, 2016

This comic hasn't been a disappointment yet, yes there were parts in this issue that seemed forced, but the story itself was fantastic. Add in Greg Capullo's art and it made for one action packed adventure that left me wishing I didn't have to wait so long for Reborn #4.

Dec 14, 2016

A rock-and-roll based murder mystery wasn't something I wasexpecting to love, but I did! I especially liked the writing style, it was likegoing through Jackie's diary/case files for a murder long forgotten. I have afeeling that the contrasting personalities of Jackie and Dorothy will lead to someawesome dialogue in future issues. All in all, solid art, solid writing, solidissue:

Scooby Doo Where Are You? #78

Feb 8, 2017

I actually have to agree with the little man with this one,the story fell flat and I was not interested after three pages. I'm not quitesure why the gang was even there or how the psychic thought pretending to bepossessed by anything was going to help her move to another station. The factthat the team thought it could have been anyone interfering to make herpossessed was beyond me. This art was blah and the colors were dark and muddy. After having a fun first story to make me relive my childhood this story justfelt off.

Trinity (2016) #5

Jan 18, 2017

Finally, we get some answers! This issue is by far myfavorite of the arc so far, and I love how one issue can flip that switch.Honestly this book was on my list of books I was considering dropping and I amso glad this issue came about when it did. Manapul did a great job all aroundwith this book and I cannot wait to see what happens now that the dream isover.

Trinity (2016) #6

Feb 15, 2017

Finally, the first story arc of Trinity has come to a close, and even with the middle three issues not being my favorite it was pretty enjoyable. Lupacchino's pencils in this issue was fantastic, nothing against Manapul's art but I feel like it was leaps and bounds better than the last few issue, especially with the character's facial expressions. Most of all though, I love how this story ended, White Mercy betraying Mongul because it learned something other than hate from our hero's and inspired it to help them escape and save Superman. This book had everything; killer art, a great wrap up of the arc and a little hint as to what was coming next…
