The only issue I have with this cover is Bruce's position on the cover. It seems as if he was put in at the last minute, he seems to just hang in the air, calling out for either Tim or Damian. He seems out of place and maybe the cover would have looked better without him. |

Would I even notice NIGHTWING #9 on the shelves if I did not actively look for it? The answer is, sadly, no. It is a perfect example of mediocrity. |

My only complaint is, still, the massive overload of red color. The red of his costume does not compliment the red of the blood at all and I am convinced that the impact of the cover would have been so much bigger, if Dick still had the blue costume. I can also not help it but miss the times where Dick was completely in his element on his covers. Meaning, in the air. The playful nature of him that used to be implied by the many covers which feature him in acrobatic poses is completely lost and more often than not do we see him on the ground. |

Red Hood And The Outlaws #9

The characters seem slightly lost in the overwhelming amount of red color that was used here and it is one of the less accurate covers concerning the contents of the book. Jason did not fight the Talon so much as chatting him up. |

Was it supposed to fill up empty space? Was it meant to be another element adding to the overall look of the cover? A cover that has such bright colours in it, it is bound to stick out in a comic shop anyway. So what was the thought behind this? Probably something along the lines of "Add an explosion. Explosions make everything better." |
