Archie is Mr. Justice (2024) #1 |
Nov 20, 2024 |
This is a great first issue to this new miniseries. Seeley, Norton, Whitmore, and Morelli set the table for readers and the other creative teams to meet in this world of superheroes. If youve ever wanted to try out an Archie Comic book, this is a great opportunity. |

BRZRKR: A Faceful of Bullets #1 |
Jul 24, 2024 |
BRZRKR: A FACEFUL OF BULLETS #1 is a strong and entertaining story from Jason Aaron, Salvador Larroca, Lee Loughridge, and Ed Dukeshire that tells a desperate story of Maybells need to escape and her revenge that could be her downfall and how B fits into helping her make that decision. This issue provides just the right amount of story that can be told in one issue. Theres more that can be told with the characters that B deals with outside of Maybell, and maybe those stories can be told another time. |

Crocodile Black (2024) #3 |
Jul 10, 2024 |
CROCODILE BLACK remains one of the best books BOOM! Studios have published this year, if not the last few years. Phillip Kennedy Johnson has created an amazing story of mental health being torn down from the inside out and Som, Delpeche, and Carey bringing that story to life in a way only they can. |

Epitaphs From the Abyss (2024) #1 |
Jul 24, 2024 |
This issue hit the marks for me from cover to cover. Horror and suspense is hard to do in comics, but I think each of these creative teams did a great job and I cannot wait for the next issue. |

Minor Arcana (2024) #1 |
Sep 4, 2024 |
There's a lot to dive into and I think that's what makes this issue worth checking out. You should check it out because there's so many interesting directions Lemire can take Theresa, and the readers, and what more can you ask for in a storyteller? |

Red Sonja: Death and The Devil (2024) #2 |
Oct 2, 2024 |
Red Sonja: Death and the Devil #2 is a solid issue in this miniseries that progresses the story along at a good pace and provides readers more insight to all of the players in this larger story. No one feels left to the wayside or as a background character. Theres a lot going on and this team puts it all on the page for readers to enjoy. |

Space Ghost (2024) #3 |
Jul 3, 2024 |
This issue is an interesting one because theres a moment that it looked as if Jan might go a different route in order to learn more about what happened to her father, but it only lasted long enough for her to pull a fast one on our villain and the reader. This series continues to be strong and is building a universe out that is complex and entertaining to get to know. |

The Horizon Experiment (2024): The Sacred Damned #1 |
Oct 23, 2024 |
If this is all I ever read of The Sacred Damned I got a full story that made me happy to sit down and read it. I can be satisfied with that for a little while, but I do hope there's more of this in the future. The Horizon Experiment one-shots so far have been a lot of fun to read and would be great additions to my monthly reading list. Here's to hoping we see a lot more in the near future. |

Thundercats: Cheetara (2024) #1 |
Jul 3, 2024 |
This first issue of CHEETARA is a strong start for this miniseries. The cliffhanger at the end is interesting, and is probably going to be the focus of this story. If this issue is an example for how the rest of the series will be, readers are going to have a great time. |

Thundercats: Cheetara (2024) #2 |
Aug 7, 2024 |
This is a solid second issue to the miniseries. The issue is left with a cliffhanger that could be leaning into Cheetara's vision. We'll have to wait to see what happens in the next issue to confirm. This series continues to be a great addition to the larger Thundercats story that's being told at Dynamite, and I do hope we see more of it down the road. |

Thundercats: Cheetara (2024) #5 |
Nov 27, 2024 |
This concluding issue serves more as the epilogue to the story, but that doesnt mean this issue is stale. There is a lot packed into this issue and each person working on this issue has moments to provide some of their best work on the miniseries. This series is a must read book, so dont miss out. |

Time Waits (2024) #2 |
Nov 13, 2024 |
I enjoyed the first issue of TIME WAITS a lot. I felt it showed a lot of promise, and this second issue delivered those promises and more. It may seem clich to say this, but I do look forward to the next issue with a lot of excitement to see where this team takes these characters. |

Witchblade (2024) #1 |
Jul 17, 2024 |
WITCHBLADE #1 is a solid first issue. As a long time fan, of course I want more because I know these characters so well, but that's not what this issue is about. Marguerite Bennett has crafted a first issue that has a lot in it for new readers to grab a hold of and possibly become intrigued about and want to come back for more. That's what a first issue needs to do make them want to come back for more. This issue has those moments and there's no doubt readers will want to see more. |

Big Burn (2024) #2 |
Nov 13, 2024 |
THE BIG BURN has been a fun series. This issue kept the build up of the story going and never dipped backwards for any reason. Working on a 3-issue miniseries for a creative teams has to be difficult because you need to keep readers engaged. This issue did just that. |

Free Agents (2024) #1 |
Jul 3, 2024 |
FREE AGENTS #1 is a solid launching point for this new series. Busiek and Nicieza lay out an intriguing sci-fi, action/adventure series for readers, and Mooney, Farrell, and Smith put it on the page that deserves attention. All first issues are a time for creative teams and readers to meet each other for the first time on neutral ground, and this issue is a great issue for them to meet for the 100th time, or the first. |

Profane (2024) #2 |
Jul 10, 2024 |
Overall this is a good second issue to a five issue arc. A lot of the players are in motion and readers just have to wait, much like Will, to see what happens next. This is slowly building to a book that could be a joy to go back and re-read once it concludes. |

Standstill (2024) #3 |
Oct 23, 2024 |
I really enjoyed the first issue of this miniseries, and felt like the second issue was pretty good, too. The problem I'm having at this point is I don't understand Ryker's motivation outside of this just being a revenge story for him. If that's the case I'm good with that, but I feel there's way more to it than that, so I'm sitting back a little more and waiting with this issue. The cliffhanger for this issue (the 3rd issue) makes me wonder what's going on in Ryker's mind even more than before. This is just a crazy book. |

Tin Can Society (2024) #2 |
Oct 23, 2024 |
Overall this is a solid miniseries in just two issues and I'm really looking forward to reading more of it. Remender's Giant Generator studio at Image Comics is producing some top notch comics, and well worth sampling if you haven't already. |

Witchblade (2024) #2 |
Aug 21, 2024 |
Overall, I think this was a good issue. Bennetts writing remains top notch and the art by Cafaro, Prianto, and Peteri matches that energy and quality. Having been a long time fan of this character theres a lot of been there done that to this issue when it comes to the previous volumes of this series, but acknowledging that this is also someones first time reading these characters is important when reading. Theres plenty of time to get into new territory, and I am just enjoying the ride. |
