I've been scouring the web to see if there is any sort of Figment relaunch or Disney news. I hate to come down so hard on this book, but I am missing it's purpose. It's not the worst thing I read, but I was hoping for something more imaginative. It feels like Disney dragging Marvel down, instead of Marvel raising Disney up.

The concept here is solid its a throwback while still being original. Unfortunately, everything is lost in the execution. Fans of the old pulp magazines might be able to jump in and appreciate the cross-over aspect of these characters coming together; but I dont think theres much for new readers to latch onto. 5.5 out of 10

I'm all for mash-ups, but this one isn't a smash. It's like if Jean Grey was trying to tell you a story during one of her meltdowns — it's just all over the place. If this book had been set up a little better, it wouldbe easier to read and thus easier to enjoy. The twist at the end was unexpected, but I'm not sure if that or the X-Men/Hulk crossover gimmick is enough for readers to want to continue on.

As a lawyer, I love this story and can't wait to see what happens next. The teaser from the first book tells us about a paralegal that we have not been introduced to yet, and I want to stick around to see who this character turns out to be. The dialogue was legal-heavy but fast-paced, and the art (other than She Hulk herself) was clean cut. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a good heroin series, and for any lawyers looking for a great comic book read.

This is another great book for a Buffy fan like me. Am I fan-boying out a little bit? Probably. Is this book for everyone? Probably not " if you're picking up a Buffy book for the first time, there's 9 previous seasons of heavy, complicated, insane storylines that you're going to have to know to pick up on all the little nuances. Lucky for you, I just recapped the entire thing. So I'm excited for another season of Angel & Faith " it's good to get perspective outside the core Scooby gang.

Whether you are or aren't a Cyclops fan, this is a great story that I think a lot of people can relate to. This #1 is a great set-up to what I think will be an interesting series " I'm looking forward to seeing what Scott will learn and what he'll bring back to All new X-Men. 8 out of 10

Following a great #1, this book is definitely keeping up the momentum; it's where Cyclops' journey really begins. Rucka has Scott retelling the story of Hamlet in the first couple pages, and I am really curious to see if that is a bit of foreshadowing for the series. I will definitely be staying tuned to find out. 8 out of 10

It's really refreshing when someone can take something like an old myth and give it a clever spin that makes it seem novel. What Bunn has done here is really smart, and I'm ready to go to hell and back with this new series.

This comic is not for everyone" I realized that before choosing to review it. It's not deep, it's not dark and brooding like your standard 'indie' comic book. But it's a great piece that I hope leads up to a decent movie (even if it's in Dreamworks animated format " not that I don't like Dreamworks, but I'm afraid it's going to bastardize a piece of my childhood). If you're a 30-something that grew up watching Rocky & Bullwinkle, this is a pretty awesome blast to the past.

Overall: The Darkness #1: Vicious Traditions is an entertaining book and welcome addition to The Darkness story. New readers picking this up this #1 as their intro into The Darkness series might need to do a little research to catch up, but longtime fans will appreciate Kot and Ormston's one-shot hot shot.

Being an Italian-American from New Jersey (who may or may not have witnessed a few sketchy transactions in a backroom somewhere), I could see why you might think I'm biased here. On the contrary, mob fiction has never really been my thing. But Bendis, Oeming and the rest of the team worked to make United States of Murder, Inc an intriguing and charismatic book. In fact, with this double issue you get 49 pages of the creators' script sketches and artwork sketches. Great writing, great art, novel plot — there's no reason not to pick this up. 10 out of 10
