Realm War: Age of Darkness #5
Dec 7, 2014 |
Overall, I have read Realm War #5 multiple times and I still cannot follow exactly what is happening. I have no clue who Payne is supposed to be, I only figured out the Robyn switched teams recently, and nobody knows her motivations for doing so. Characters have interactions but they lead to basically nowhere. I felt like the story refused to progress at all, we got one extremely important piece of information, but even that felt tedious. And the drama between Sela and Frost seems to be" static. And yes, I have read the first four issues of Realm War, I even read Grimm Fairy Tales #100, to do a little research, and I found little for answers, only more questions. I want to get into this story, but it seems like I'd have to study up from the beginning to understand what is happening now. This barrier makes not only Realm War #5 confusing, it also throws the entire series into a chaotic muddiness of back story that is not provided for new readers. |

Borderlands #5
Dec 24, 2014 |
This comic has potential, if only for the fertile ground of the world of Borderlands itself. I will keep through with it because I want to see more of Tannis and hopefully, more of her psychoses and characterization in the coming issues. |

Bravest Warriors: Paralyzed Horse Giant #1
Dec 2, 2014 |
As for the fate of this first issue, it is my sincere hope that this comic takes off and becomes a series of at least a couple more installments. Something that I've been dying to write about the Paralyzed Horse, is that it seems so much more like he is Beth's father than her actual birth father. Every move he makes, every time he takes to combat an enemy, every struggle he willingly faces is for her sake. If I can get more of this awesome father figure, I will most definitely do so. And I encourage you to do so as well. |
