Southern Bastards #7 has little to offer, and it will be interesting to see whether Jason Aaron (Wolverine, Thor: God of Thunder) can salvage the story arc in later issues.

With Five Ghosts #15, Frank J. Barbiere and Chris Mooneyham continue to deliver everything that makes comic books great. Five Ghosts offers action, swashbuckling pulp adventure, a touch of the supernatural, and a throwback feel.

While the art and story seemed a bit hurried, Wytches remains a series that ought be on the pull list of fans of Scott Snyder's mainstream work, or any fan of horror comics.

In Revival #27, Tim Seeley continues to thrust readers into a "rural noir" tale set in the small farm towns of central Wisconsin, where the dead came to life for a single day.

Sex #18 continues this slow moving, but engaging, series about the interactions among big business, the media, political power players, gang bosses and former superheroes and villains inhabiting Saturn City.

Autumnlands: Tooth & Claw #3 continues to be the type of comic book envisioned by people who poke fun at people who read comic books.

Revival #26 peels off another thin layer to reveal a bit more of what happens when the dead come to life in rural Wisconsin.

Wytches #3 offers a slow installment to this brilliant and unsettling vision from Scott Snyder and Jock.

With a rather uninspired origin story, even fans of the series could probably pass on Southern Bastards #6.

Five Ghosts #14 continues this recommended series of carefree supernatural pulp adventures.

Colourist Jordie Bellaire remains the highlight of the creative team, setting the mood for the series with an understated palette. Artist Benjamin Dewey clearly enjoys bringing these fantastic creatures to life and steps up to the plate when illustrating a lengthy action sequence late into the issue. Finally, Kurt Busiek (Astro City, Marvels) is slowly moving Tooth & Claw forward, but it has yet to prove to be an engaging story, nor to have any of the characters developed much. Perhaps, the introduction of the Grand Champion will move things forward positively in subsequent issues. The question is how many readers will stick around to find out.

Sex #18 offers a good taste of Joe Casey's searching story of a city that has outgrown superheroes.

Within the first few pages, Revival #25 let's readers know they are about to embark upon a unique experience.

Wytches #2 is an eerie page-turner that offers many new questions and continues an enjoyable supernatural thrill ride.

In Tooth & Claw #1, Kurt Busiek introduces readers to a fantasy world with walking and talking canines. There is not much to engage readers in this initial issue.

Southern Bastards #5 continues an enjoyable story, but nothing that ought leap to the top of one's pull list.

Five Ghosts #13 is a great starting point for new readers to latch onto this swashbuckling pulp adventure series.

An intriguing, eerie collaboration from the superstar team of Scott Snyder and Jock.
