Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Giants #2

Jan 22, 2017

While it is somewhat dark, the story is never the less entertaining regardless of the simplicity of its conception. Most people think of Jim Henson and see singing frogs, purple curvy nosed things and spectacularly dressed swine. But this story is much closer to the films The Labyrinth or The Dark Crystal in both tone and execution. This may be the second chapter of four stories, but it will be interesting to see where the next two chapters go. If you have the chance, read it. If you do not, I would still suggest reading it.

Dirk Gently: The Salmon of Doubt #4

Jan 22, 2017

To be quite honest, the storyline greatly feels like a Doctor Who episode, with a quirky British man, an interesting companion and an animal that isn't. The only thing missing is a time traveling police box. Well, at least a police box. This is an incredibly strange, fast-paced conundrum but if you don't mind weird than this could be for you. If I had my choice I would finish it to the end because it is an enjoyable train wreck.

The Strain: Mister Quinlan - Vampire Hunter #5

Jan 13, 2017

The only problem with this story is it leaves more questions than answers. Where does he go next? What does he do? Will he be capable of leaving behind the traumas of his past or will his rage be all consuming? If you haven't read The Strain: Mister Quinlan Vampire Hunter, then I highly suggest you do.

God Country #1

Jan 14, 2017

Although it has the makings of a horrible science fiction/fantasy movie, God Country #1 is one of the most oddly satisfying action/adventure that I have ever read. It was breathtaking in a way that is impossible to explain, because it involves so much more than words. I highly suggest reading it, especially for people who like storylines with strong beginnings. If the momentum lasts, God Country should be considered a classic.
