Poison Ivy (2022) #17 |
Dec 7, 2023 |
While I didn't like the soap opera B plotline with an unnecessary love triangle between all three female main characters, I think we are seeing Poison Ivy frantically trying to cure her infected citizens. I have high hopes that G. Willow Wilson will stick the landing on this series when it concludes. My hopes are also to see some redemption for former villainous characters. This may not be what the standard comic reader enjoys, but I find that gray characters are the most interesting in modern comics. |

While I love the Bruno Redondo artwork almost to a scary level, Joshua Williamson seems to be just figuring out what to do with such a firecracker of talent. I love Nighthawk and Cinnamon as characters and am glad they are here. Williamson has drawn out the mystery of Marilyn Moonlight perfectly during this run. I hope to see a better synchronization of the Redondo/Williamson team in the next issue. |

Catwoman (2018) #58 |
Oct 19, 2023 |
The characterization is pretty inconsistent with what we have seen in the past issues of The Gotham War. Tini Howard paints an interesting picture with Selina's thoughts, but, overall it feels like editorial realized that Batman and Catwoman need to team-up to stop the Savages. As a result, the issue feels flat. |

Poison Ivy (2022) #18 |

I love, love the cover. But, the actual story of this issue is pretty pointless. Poison Ivy is still making an antidote to atone for catastrophic blunders. This storyline could stretch years at this rate. |

Supergirl Special (2023) #1 |

I think that DC Comics is better off killing Supergirl than making stories like this just to drain $6.00 from its readers. |

The artwork is not consistent in the slightest. Lex Luthor's nose gains and loses a bridge several times during this issue. Basic editing errors are abundant here. I want to see more of The Chained's backstory. There is no richness to the colors or vibrance to the inks. |
