The Highest House #1

Mar 21, 2018

HIGHEST HOUSE #1 is a fantastic opening issue, immediately dispelling any notion that Medieval Fantasy is overdone and boring.

Giants #1

Jan 4, 2018

GIANTS #1 introduces a compelling take on both the post-apocalyptic and the kaiju genres. Most impressively, the writers manage to put the focus on the brothers amid the titanic setting.

InferNoct #1

Sep 4, 2017

The first issue of INFERNOCT successfully establishes the brooding protagonist and Lovecraftian horrors at the edge of human consciousness.

InferNoct #2

Oct 17, 2017

INFERNOCT #2 is a blast to read. The main thing I wanted from the series after the first issue was even more Lovecraftian horrors and the second issue delivers that in spades.

Wolfenstein #1

WOLFENSTEIN #1 perfectly channels the style of Wolfenstein: The New Order and accomplishes its job of hyping you up for the upcoming sequel!

Dark Souls: Winter's Spite #1

Jul 13, 2017

DARK SOULS: WINTER'S SPITE is a compellingly brutal adventure. Players of the games will appreciate the familiarity and newcomers will enjoy the badass fighting and cryptic narration. The beautiful art manages to tie everything together.

Dark Souls: Legends of the Flame #1

DARK SOULS: LEGENDS OF THE FLAME provides an interesting take on the DARK SOULS universe. It will feel familiar to fans of the games. Yet with a satisfying variety of aesthetic styles, it doesn't get old.

Riftworld Legends #1

Oct 20, 2017

RIFTWORLD LEGENDS #1 puts an interesting spin on the fantasy trope of people from earth accidentally arriving in a magic world. The decision to make 15th century explorers the protagonists works really well.

Hercules: Wrath of the Heavens #1

Aug 17, 2017

HERCULES: WRATH OF THE HEAVENS #1 is a captivating futuristic adaptation of the most well-known Greek myth. The concept alone is gold, but it's reinforced by compelling writing.

Hercules: Wrath of the Heavens #2

Sep 16, 2017

HERCULES: WRATH OF THE HEAVENS #2 diverges somewhat from the traditional layout of the 12 Labors of Hercules. However, it is still steeped in knowledge and respect for Greek Mythology.

Hercules: Wrath of the Heavens #3

Nov 13, 2017

HERCULES: WRATH OF THE HEAVENS #3 has some really interesting ideas, including an awesome take on the classical hydra. However, the art was sub-par and the characterization could have been better.

Hercules: Wrath of the Heavens #4

Nov 27, 2017

HERCULES: WRATH OF THE HEAVENS #4 rapidly decreases in quality within the issue, and for the series as a whole. The writers veer away from classical myth, but fail to replace it with something substantial and satisfying.

Dead of Winter #1

Aug 2, 2017

An interesting take on the typical zombie formula. Sparky is a high point of the issue and the source of a lot of laughs.

Rick and Morty (2015) #29

Aug 26, 2017

RICK AND MORTY #29 looks like a normal episode of the show, but the characters don't feel as authentic and the plot line is fairly weak.
