While I wasn't a particular fan of the story presented, I have to praise Huang Danlan's art and Marcio Menyz's color work. They do a fantastic job of establishing a the bleak and gruesome nature of the adventure that lays ahead for our heroes. Unfortunately I don't think I'll be joining them on that adventure, but maybe you should if you've absolutely got a craving for a harrowing story of space survival.

It's not a mind blowing Who comics or even Who story by any means, but it's definitely worth reading if you're a fan of the 8th Doctor and I for one am looking forward to seeing how this mini-series plays out.

Maybe it's because I'm invested or Wiebe is as good as making the Rat Queens seem as though they're in real danger as he is as showing them be raucous and victorious, but I'm not gonna lie: I wanna know how they're gonna get out of this one.

I read a lot of first issues and rarely do I find one as well paced and plotted as Falling Satellite is. Steve Horton seems to have a fair handle on sci-fi noir, something a lot of folks either think they're doing really well, when they aren't really doing noir at all, or just straight up do poorly. This is a story that knows what it is coming out of the gate and to me, that's exciting. It should excite you too.

Zodiac Starforce #1 not only managed to avoid some of the biggest pitfalls which can sink a new series before it leaves the dock, it completely shattered my expectations for the kind of quality a first issue can and should deliver to readers. Go read this comic.
