Placing Nightwing in New York City isolates him from those who he relates to most. He should be fighting alongside Batman and Robin, Oracle, and other characters that bring out the best of his personality. A thorough reevaluation of the Nightwing title is necessary to reach the prominence that the character deserves.

The last section of the book is the anticipated primary focus of the storyline. It actually sheds a little light on The Sentrys participation in the previous arc. The ending of this book is both shocking and ridiculous. It offers a significant clue to the Sentrys origin, but adds even more confusion than there was previously. I have no idea where Bendis is going, but I certainly am curious. I see the potential with the Sentry. I just hope he does not end up as being a mere Superman rip-off. Overall this storyline is off to a great start, and I cannot wait for part 2!

Overall, this issue provides a perfect starting point for anyone interested in the new adventures of Hal Jordan as Green Lantern. It offers a story about the endless possibilities of the worlds most courageous man. Geoff Johns blends delightful characterization, wonderful action with dazzling art by Sciver and Pacheco. This series is not to be missed!

This issue uses transparent and blatant devices to further Supermans newfound emotional feelings. However, I still respect that Verheiden is attempting to do something different with this book. He has found a solid direction to take Superman, his means are just something to be desired. If the art is more consistent and the story is less contrived, Verheiden could potentially craft a nice little run on this book.
