The Signal doesn't always get it right, but he's still trying. With a little practice, he's bound to be the daytime hero Gotham needs. Grab a copy of Batman and The Signal #1 and get you a piece of this shine. |

Batman and the Signal #2
Feb 21, 2018 |
The series really could have been called "The Signal," because at this point Bats just pops in to make sure Duke didn't break anything in the cave he paid for. It looks like they're finally going to team up in the next issue, and it'll be fun to watch that dynamic play out. Batman and The Signal #2 is a great read, and if you haven't read the first one, just go ahead and grab that one, too. |

Batman and the Signal #3
Apr 26, 2018 |
Sorry about that, folks. Anyway, Signal meets up with Detective Aisi and together they track down Gnomon, the baddie behind all this mess. The comic does a really good job of displaying his powers and how only he could track down this villain so efficiently. There's no handholding in this story, Duke has his big boy Kevlar on, and he's ready to shut Gnomon's plans down. The main issue of this series is that it's not long enough. There are so many interesting elements to this character and his story that are owed more than just half a panel. Hopefully we get to see more of The Signal in the future, because he's too good a character to put on Power Save Mode. |

Eternal (2018) #1
Jan 24, 2018 |
Eternal is a powerful story about leadership and finding balance within. It's a very engaging read that takes the reader on a journey through the life of a Viking. You feel the crisp air of the village, the clang of swords on shields, the heavy breathing in the midst of battle. One critique of the story is that it would have been nice to have more shield maidens with speaking lines. Lady Vif is the main character, but other than the child, Grimr, none of the other women have any characterization. It was most likely a creative choice for the narrative to focus mainly on Vif, but it would be great if they continue the series to open the world up to the other Vikings. |
