Blue Book (2023) #4

Blue Book#4 continues to deliver the healthy dose of Paranormal mystery the series has brought to the comic books. It is a solid showcase for an ace group of creators at the top of their game. If this is begging of a new True Weird sub-genre, then sign me up!

Venom comics are one of my go-to's if I want to switch off and dive into some dark escapist action. Death of the Veonomverse#1 easily fulfilled this need and left me eager to move on to whatever else this series has to offer!

Groot #1 is a fun, warm-hearted opening issue to a series that promises to be a critical development to the Guardians of The Galaxy and their corner of the Marvel Universe. And, as with all things Groot, it's another example of how heroes come in all shapes and sizes and sometimes, when it comes to the words they use, less is more.

The new Incredible Hulk#1 succeeds in setting off an exciting new chapter in the Hulk's journey. This is a well-crafted, expertly paced and highly readable first issue using the man vs. internal monster narrative in its rawest form.

As with the Art across the Bone Orchard tales, a deep sense of mystery is woven into every image with a cinematic flare. By capturing the characters in enigmatic poses and spreading intricate panels across dark and eerie backgrounds. Sorrentino proves, yet again, that he's a master of telling suspenseful horror stories.

As with issues#1 Remender continues to pull no punches, and The Sacrificers already represents some of his most dark, strange, and wonderfully poetic work. It's an absorbing, tense story drenched in high fantasy goodness topped off with majestic artwork. A work well on the way to becoming another Rick Remender & Image comics master collaboration!

Ultimate Invasion (2023) #2

Ultimate Invasion works mainly because of Jonathan Hickam's ability to create detailed plots around razor-sharp dialogue, expert pacing, and subtle use of action. Diehard Ultimate universe obsessives and those as clueless as I will surly enjoy this entertaining slant on the Marvel Universe.
