There's something weirdly B-movie about Death of the Venomverse #1 and it makes it all fun. There's a campiness about it all where it does and doesn't take itself too seriously. The concept too creates an almost video game level aspect to it where Carnage is on a mission to defeat the next boss. That bit makes it a bit more enjoyable to see different takes on Venom than just dumping them into the story, creating variety for the hell of it. Overall, it's a comic I went in not expecting to enjoy and came out looking forward to the next issue. Read Full Review

Venom comics are one of my go-to's if I want to switch off and dive into some dark escapist action. Death of the Veonomverse#1 easily fulfilled this need and left me eager to move on to whatever else this series has to offer! Read Full Review

In this opening issue, Carnage goes full cosmic slasher and it's as gnarly as it is entertaining. Carnage continues to fulfill his destiny of being one of Marvel's great villains. Full of surprises and bitter ends for some fan favorite Venoms, you're not going to want to miss this event. Read Full Review

Death of the Venomverse #1 takes the predictable approach by showing off several symbiotic hero amalgamations, but makes fun enough use of them to justify abundance. Read Full Review

I was no great fan of Cullen Bunn's past multiversal events, so I opened this up with the lowest of expectations. I was fully prepared for off-putting "smash the action figures together" nonsense.

I was pleasantly surprised by the focus and polish this issue delivered. It's definitely an adrenaline-fueled action story, but it's a well-constructed and well-illustrated one.

What bumped it into "good comics" territory for me was coming across some real character work. Flash Thompson's relationship with Andi Benton/Mania plays a big role.

It turns out, having even ONE character with a better motivation than "he's evil and we're good so we must fight" makes all the difference for me.

I just flipped through this, as I'm not a huge fan of symbiote stuff. It just seems like an endless stream of new characters, new names, new colors, new permutations, all fight fight fight and teeth. Reminds me of those sites where they use AI to mash up elements of old sci-fi movies into fake movie screenshots.
