Aaaand it all collapses down to pointless, gory violence involving variants and deep-cut characters we barely know. The art is dynamic, but it lacks clarity--though I think the script is partly to blame for that. The plot is functional in a sterile, algorithmic way: Baddy does X, so we do Y, repeat ad nauseam.
The final page extends the hope that the Flash/Andi thread is still alive, and that may redeem future issues for me. It doesn't do diddly to make me enjoy #2, though.
Backups: Five pages is an awfully challenging format. These creators just haven't a prayer of squeezing anything compelling into that little space.
