Captain America: Steve Rogers #4

Aug 30, 2016

It's suffice to say this comic has a different Steve Rogers than we know, in every possible way.I'm sure there are some of you out there that love this series, but others are just confused. I'm in that second camp. Maybe once this is all said and done we'll all look back and laugh at how we thought this story was going to be so bad but turned out to be the best Cap story told in years. I won't hold my breath for that, but I will keep my fingers crossed anyway.

Civil War II: The Accused #1

Aug 10, 2016

I wanted to read this and think, "Man, this would be an awesome episode of Daredevil," but that's not how I feel. I feel like this was alright, and something that I'd like to see continue, but on it's own, issue #1 isn't stellar. I can recommend it to people trying to get a bit more insight as to what happened next with Hawkeye after the bombshell in Civil War 2, but other than that, it can be skipped.

TMNT: Bebop & Rocksteady Destroy Everything #1

Jun 3, 2016

This is a really fun comic, and a nice little divergence from the normal Turtle storylines. Though you can expect to see the Turtles pop up again, this is definitely going to be a series focused on Bebop and Rocksteady, so they'll be the main characters through to the end.

Teen Titans: Earth One #2

Aug 15, 2016

The first volume ended on a true cliffhanger; we knew that someone else had to come to wrap the story. With Volume 2, you will be left feeling like a full story has been told, although there is so much more for these Teen Titans to be doing. We can only hope that there will be a third volume to start showing how these powered kids can be real heroes, instead of just living on the run.

Lobster Johnson: Metal Monsters of Midtown #1

May 27, 2016

Though only a 3 part series, Dark Horse fans are likely familiar with the character and thus this is a miniseries you have to pick up. Check it out in print or on digital to make sure you see this one through to the end!

Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: Pink #1

May 31, 2016

For collectors of Ranger stuff, or those who just want to read a great superhero story about a female lead who isn't sexualized at all (another great point for BOOM! Studios here), this is the story to pick up. If you're turned off by the idea of Power Rangers, thinking them too childish or retro to be relevant, pick this up anyway. You'll quickly find that your previous conceptions of the series are no longer the case. This series, while still Young Adult friendly, isn't the kids show you grew up with. It's setting itself up to be an awesome story all it's own.

Mosaic #1

Oct 13, 2016

This character and story is one that I've been excited to check out since it was announced, but I also worry about it. Could a character like this ever be part of an ensemble? Would he be able to affect or hop into other characters? Does he have a body of his own, or does he only exist within other people? There are a lot of questions that I think about when thinking about this character. I want it to do well, and I want it to go on for a while, but it will definitely take a few issues to find out whether this is a home run for Marvel, or just a fun story to read for a few issues.

Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas #1

May 31, 2016

Let us be clear, neither We The Nerdy nor the author condones drug use or any illicit activity. This story is just one that is steeped in those themes and draws an audience that enjoys such activities. This is a very mature story and should not be read by a child.
