Avengers (2016) #677 |
Jan 26, 2018 |
This issue had a lot of action with the Avengers stuck between a worldwide battle between The Lethal Legion and the Black Order. The characterization of the heroes continues to be spot on, but at this point, the villains all kind of feel like they are just there. That said, I did like the twist on the typical event story of two groups being forced to fight by powerful beings with both groups being villains this time. |

Avengers (2016) #676 |

Avengers: No Surrender continues to keep me excited as a reader. I don't exactly like the Black Order or this new Lethal Legion, but they just seem to be there to get us to bigger things to come. This issue featured great art and a lot of terrific character moments. Plus, they managed to integrate Voyager into Avengers history without being overbearing. It's not easy to balance all those things, but No Surrender is making it look easy. |

Ice Cream Man #1 |

ICE CREAM MAN really managed to grab my attention. I didn't know what to expect from this comic, but I got something wonderfully creepy and clever. In a very crowded comic marketplace, ICE CREAM MAN has a lot that can make it stand out. |

Avengers (2016) #675 |

We still have a long way to go with No Surrender, but I really enjoyed this first issue. Great art, exciting story, compelling character moments, and a lot of mysteries left to be answered. I do have some concerns about paying $5 or $4 for the sixteen weeks for one story, but if it all stays self-contained that is far better than many events and crossovers Marvel has done. |
