King's Road #1

Feb 10, 2016

Overall King's Road #1 was a very solid kick off to a promising series. While not breaking any new ground in terms of storytelling or art, Kings Road has a memorable sense of humor and wit, and can be enjoyed by comic readers young and old.

Predator: Life and Death #1

Feb 23, 2016

Overall Predator: Life and Death #1 is a very fun introductory issue. It essentially seems like a comic that is strictly for the AVP diehard fans, giving proper amounts of fan-service. This could have dragged the story down to sheer redundancy, but when the inevitable explosion of violence breaks out with the introduction of the Predators, I couldn't keep a smile off my face. This story gave me everything I love about the Predator franchise, in all of it's bloodsoaked glory.

Superman: American Alien #6

Apr 20, 2016

The Superman: American Alien series is such an important moment for Superman, and it has done a spectacular job of showing brief "snapshots" of a young man who is bound to change the world. Every issue has taken a different angle on his life, ranging from hopeful to sexy, morbid, goofy, etc. This sixth issue is one of those special books that elevates the character we already know so well and makes them that much more endearing and iconic. It features vibrant art, naturally flowing dialogue, and a beautifully self-contained story (with a cameo that readers will enjoy), Landis has written what is all together a great Clark Kent story (can we even call this a Superman story?) that left me smiling and anxious for the conclusion to this great series.
