I don't regret getting it, but if a friend had the story, I would probably just have borrowed it. It does look like it nearly sold out, so if you want to drop the cash, maybe it'll be a good choice. At the end of the day, I didn't love this story, but I do like it. But hey, maybe I'm a robot"

This is a fantastic issue #1 because Millar doesn't try to hide anything. In fact, the story is pretty simple and this is a great thing. From the opening pages it is clear what this story will be, yet at the same time I found my mind wandering to all the awesome possibilities. Don't try to look at this book as a story with double meaning, take it for what it is, pure entertainment.

My liking this book is affected by my fears that this title will suffer from being hard to understand without reading the other Marvel titles tagging along for the event. That being said, I am going to hold out and add this to my ever growing pull list to figure out who holds the eye now.

Overall, the team behind The Wicked + The Divine gives us an engaging story with incredible art. I would love to get large prints of one of the exploding heads and of the double page spread, if they ever became available. I don't think this is for everyone, but I will definitely be picking up issue #2 when it hits the shelves.

Overall, this book was entertaining and continues the same quality we have seen in previous issues. If you haven't try to catch up and jump on.

In the end, I feel like this book would be a great introduction to both titles. I for one, will be attempting to catch up in Revival because it has left me impressed with the creative team. Also, seeing Poyo v.s.Lying Cat was one of the high points of my day.

In conclusion, go buy this book. If you don't you will be missing out on one of the best books that I have read this year. “New Avengers Annual” #1 is awork of artand I will be crossing my fingers that Marvel gives this teama shot at a Dr. Strange solo book.
