Issue #2 lays out the motivations of our characters and what is ultimately driving everyone: the desire to save their people. I enjoyed how we switched between Kattegat and England with the plot continuing to flow smoothly.

This series is economical with its story and that might leave some a bit disappointed, but it is a complete one with some high moments of action. The artwork has been consistent in its tone when it comes to reflecting the harshness and brutality of the Viking way of life as we explore two independent stories - one of life away from Kattegat as a warrior and the stories of those who remain behind. Was there more of a story to be told? Perhaps, but "Godhead," with its odd blend of magic, violence, and politics, still makes it work.

This was a beautifully written comic that while short, used every page to its advantage. I loved the art cover by Shane Pierce, showing Travis Fimmel at the forefront intermixed with the colors of nature and earth behind him. Of course, the two additional variants we get at the end with Lagertha and Ragnar were also well done with an eye for the intensity the characters bring. This is a must read for all fans of Vikings as it does not disappoint.

The artwork is this series continues to be expansive and detailed at the same time. The words that pop out of the pages reflect action, or more specifically the fight scenes when visible.
