Joe The Barbarian #8
Mar 6, 2011 |
If you've already bought the first seven issues, Joe the Barbarian #8 is probably in your subscription bin anyway. If, however, you were sitting on the fence, wondering if the series was worth picking up, I'd offer you a resounding "yes! Do it!" |

DV8: Gods and Monsters #1
May 1, 2010 |
In its time, DV8 broke away from the well worn superhero genre by challenging some of its most entrenched traditions. Brian Wood picks up that particular torch and runs with it. The story is compelling and Rebekah Isaacs's art is pitch perfect. It's one of my favorite new books in a while. I recommend giving it a try. |

Devil #2
Mar 25, 2010 |
In Devil's first issue, the dialogue was poor, but the fighting was plentiful. Devil #2 drops the gunplay (but not the gore) to focus almost exclusively on the broken writing. However, the second half of this four issue run promises a ballet of kinetic action and explosions. If you want the necessary context behind the ensuing chaos, you're going to have to tough it out and give this one a read, buddy. |

A-Team: War Stories #1
May 19, 2010 |
Murdock's story has the best expression and body language. So, artistically it's a grab bag, but this book delivers exactly what you'd expect from an A-Team title. There are plenty of explosions and chases, but the narrative is consistently groan inducing. Unless you're an A-Team faithful, you should probably skip this one. |
