Batgirl goes big for the 50th issue and delivers a great adventure.

Batman '66 #30

Dec 17, 2015

This has been a favorite title of mine and I'm sad to see it ending. I love the classic Batman show and I've enjoyed the directions they've gone with the title here. This issue is a great send off to the book.

Batman '66 Meets The Man From U.N.C.L.E. #1

Dec 26, 2015

While it's less “Batman meets The Man From U.N.C.L.E.” and more “Batman and also The Man From U.N.C.L.E.”, this is still a lot of fun to read. You don't need to be a fan of U.N.C.L.E. to follow along but I'm sure there will be plenty of details for long time fans to enjoy.

DC Bombshells #6

Dec 13, 2015

The Bombshell story continues to be a lot of fun. It's nice to see the story really moving forward now and the action heating up. This issue suffers a bit by trying to do too much, but that can be a problem with a cast this large and spread out.

DC Bombshells #7

Dec 26, 2015

I'm glad to see a single storyline in this issue as opposed to the jumping around from last month. Bombshells continues to be a good book balancing the heart and the action. The book has a message but it delivers in such a way that you don't feel like the book is preaching to you, and it fits within the context of the story.

DC Bombshells #8

Jan 10, 2016

This issue builds a good amount of tension as the Tenebrae army rises. The family drama with Supergirl and Stargirl creates an additional element to the story. Add in a Lovecraftian horror waiting under the sea and it makes everything that much more complicated for the heroes and that much more interesting for us as readers.

DC Bombshells #9

Feb 16, 2016

The trio of Supergirl, Stargirl and Mera make a strong story that balances action and family together, but it feels a bit weakened by Wonder Woman's chapter which feels disconnected.

DC Bombshells #10

Mar 6, 2016

This continues to be a really good, but flawed book. There is a lot to enjoy here, especially in the Wonder Woman story which seems to be where the most important battle is taking place. Marguerite Bennett continues to write great characters and the artwork throughout the whole book is really good, but the pacing and character balance continue to make for a very uneven read.

Harley Quinn (2013) #21

Oct 17, 2015

Harley Quinn is a lot of fun to read. The creators have a definite vision for this book and it continues here. The book doesn't take itself too seriously and doesn't pander to the reader either. It's fun and cartoonish in the best way.

Harley Quinn (2013) #23

Dec 22, 2015

There aren't many out there like Harley Quinn right now. This book continues in the zany styling that has come before it. While the two halves don't do much for the other, they are still fun stories. I just would've liked to see some connection between the two to make a more cohesive whole.

Harley Quinn (2013) #24

Jan 22, 2016

There are a lot of Harley books out now, but this felt like more of the classic Harley that we have all come to know and enjoy. All in all, this is just a very fun book with some great over the top action and it builds to quite the cliffhanger.

Harley Quinn (2013) #25

Feb 21, 2016

The normally fun Harley Quinn takes a heavier turn as she confronts the Joker and her past. It's intense but shows how Harley has grown as a character. Mason has been saved and they even managed to stay on the good side of the Bat. I loved seeing her return to Gotham, but it would've been nice to see her return to the current Gotham. I understand why they did not choose that option though.

Harley Quinn (2013) #26

Mar 28, 2016

Harley Quinn is back home, but Gotham never really lets go once it has a hold of you. This issue is a lot of setup for the new status quo and a new villain. It's mostly character building and fun times with a few action beats involving our mystery guest. A fun issue with nothing truly consequential happening.

Harley Quinn And Power Girl #6

Jan 1, 2016

Harley and Power Girl's wild ride comes to a close. I enjoyed this issue much more than the previous. I have to wonder if the series on a whole could've been compressed down into 5 issues. Either way, it wraps up with a good story and puts us right back where we started.

Harley Quinn and the Suicide Squad: April Fool's Special #1

Apr 10, 2016

It's April Fools' all right, and Harley's special issue for that is a perfect fit. We are never quite sure how much of the book is just in her head, or how much really happenedif any of it. An odd choice to wrap up an otherwise very fun issue. The contrasting art styles between Lee and Galloway give the book a fun twist, and I love that it takes the entire Justice League to stop Harley once she gets going.

Harley's Little Black Book #1

Dec 6, 2015

I always enjoy a good team up book, and I've been enjoying Harley's misadventures since her solo title launched. Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn make a fun team, although it would've been nice to see a bit more of them together. I'm excited to see who Harley will team up with next.

Harley's Little Black Book #2

Feb 15, 2016

Harley with the power of a Lantern ring is a pretty dangerous thought and we see exactly why here. This issue is a lot of fun and the creators continue to give us exactly what we want from these Harley books. The story works best when it's Harley and Lantern, but tends to lose steam when we spend time with the London Legion.

Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death #1

Jan 23, 2016

This is a really good look at the character of Poison Ivy. She's not presented as a villain or a hero, she simply is presented as a person and how she does and does not fit into the world around her. It's a great character study of her, but the story is lacking when it comes to the larger mystery and story arc.

Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death #2

Feb 19, 2016

The first issue was a great character study of Poison Ivy, here we get more of her as a character but a proper mystery is forming around her. While we don't get very many leads or suspects, the story is well written and drawn. I like the idea of Ivy as a mother and I'm very interested to see what direction the rest of the story goes in. I just hope they don't want to long to get into the mystery.

Poison Ivy: Cycle of Life and Death #3

Mar 18, 2016

Poison Ivy's mystery continues to deepen. The writers have set up some great questions and problems to keep us guessing until the next issue. Ivy's murder of Winston stands out as an odd plot point in an otherwise great book. The creators continue to really flesh out Poison Ivy and make her more than a one-dimensional villain.

Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman #15

Oct 8, 2015

Both of these stories work to show a different side to Wonder Woman, one that is not always well represented. They show her caring and compassion more than they show her fists. That is the advantage of an anthology title like this, they can explore different aspects of the character and place her into different situations without worrying about it affecting the overall canon.

Sensation Comics Featuring Wonder Woman #17

Dec 6, 2015

This is a good spin on a classic superhero tale. The villains are not simply black and white out for themselves, and the heroes have to make difficult decisions. It's a darker story, but it never feels grim and gritty, nor does it feel like something that couldn't be appreciated by all age readers.

The Legend of Wonder Woman #1

Jan 17, 2016

Not everyone is a fan of retelling an origin story, however, it's done well here. Even though this is most likely the least interesting part of Wonder Woman's story, the creators keep things interesting with good artwork and writing. This book does it's best to keep up with all the different pieces that need to be setup for the remainder of the series.

Wonder Woman '77 Special #2

Oct 2, 2015

I really enjoy these retro-themed comics. The shows continue to remain popular and these unique takes on the classic characters are a lot of fun. This book does have all the campy fun of the original show. That classic feel is both a blessing and a curse as some items can feel very dated to that era. Wonder Woman fans of all ages will find a lot to enjoy in this book.

Wonder Woman (2011) #46

Nov 28, 2015

The Finch's wrap up this story arc and seem to restore some of the older Wonder Woman status quo. While the story wraps up very conveniently it's a really good story, delving into the relationship between war and peace.

Wonder Woman (2011) #47

Jan 2, 2016

This is a good stand-alone issue as the character resets for the next story arc. Like the best Wonder Woman stories, there is a lesson to be learned here for all involved about the use of power, even if she didn't have to actually intervene to resolve the issue.

Wonder Woman (2011) #50

I really enjoyed Donna Troy's backup story, but it feels like the writer didn't know how to fully resolve the conflict or the character.
