I wish I could say this was the story that revealed every secret in the Land of Ooo. Instead, this tale is a slice of life during the apocalypse. It gives us hope that these people will be okay and that people in general can over come fear and thrive. This tribe will soldier on, facing the unknown just like Jo the Bunny Girl does, and just like we the readers should.

Jon Sommariva's (TMNT AMAZING ADVENTURES, NOBLE CAUSES) depiction of the Nickelodeon TMNT, is exactly how the 2-D version would look. Jon's artwork is the perfect blend of dynamic and cartoonish. Containing vivid color that truly animates each page, and these two creators just mesh so well together that I can't wait for the next issue.BATMAN/TMNT ADVENTURES #1 is my favorite read this week. The first issue is well written, the artwork is great, and there is only more to come. Whether you are a New Yorker or a Gothamite, add this to your pull list today and feel like a kid again!

The special concludes with a bonus story created by Caanan Grall (MAX OVERACTS) where Esther and her family take in a poor unfortunate soul for the holidays. A short charming tale that wraps up this first in, what I hope, is a long run of one shots from this one-of-a-kind series. Make sure to grab your copy at the campus book store today!

I will continue to read DONALD QUEST #1, mainly due to my belief in these creators' potential to make this as wonderful as their past works, such as WIZARDS OF MICKEY. I hope the story will explore these characters more in-depth. I want to see more of their backgrounds and lives instead of pandering to fantasy trends. It's the characters I want to invest myself in first, then the rest of the world. With this first issue, it was hard to do either.
