Batman (2011) #19

Apr 12, 2013

While Batman uncovers new information about Clayface's transformation, I believe we get to see (correct me if I'm wrong) a newly designed Batplane and Batcycle (reminiscent to the Batpod). Brand-spanking new or not, I love the Batplane in this issue " it's got a Burton quality to it. I never hone in and start gushing over vehicles like this, but I really dig how Greg Capullo drew the aircraft in the panel. I must also praise the whole art team for their design of Clayface, whose transformation is downright vile looking.

Batman and Robin (2011) #20

May 11, 2013

This issue was packed with quite a bit of narrative which I loved. The interaction between Batman and Red Hood was tense; you really get a clear glimpse if not already how far Bruce fallen into desperation; the art caters this theme through the dark shadows that cover Bruces face. I give props to all the artists that worked on the cover. Batmans rage filled expression exploding through the Red Hood helmet is instantly eye catching and warrants attention.

Green Lantern (2011) #20

May 28, 2013

Besides the hoggish ending, this issue was a delight to read. Its big and colourful I wanted to eat popcorn as I read because it felt like a massive Hollywood summer blockbuster.

Guardians of the Galaxy (2013) #1

Mar 29, 2013

Guardians of the Galaxy offers intriguing characters, drama, action and beautifully detailed art. I highly recommend picking up this new book, especially with the movie on its way.

Justice League (2011) #19

Apr 18, 2013

Billy and Co. are trying to find the Rock of Eternity, so Batson can give his powers back, but its not possible as told my Francesca (Im not a 100% sure who this chick is). This ghostly woman who appears in an iPad shows Billy the origin of Black Adam. Adam was chosen as a boy just like Billy, but something drove him to the dark side of magic. Im excited for the next issue, but I hate waiting a month for a tad bit more. Give Shazam his own book, dammit!

Justice League of America (2013) #6

This issue really felt like the clam before the storm. I expect things to pick up in Justice League Dark a book Ive never read, but theres nothing wrong with being introduced to new characters.

Nova (2013) #2

Mar 22, 2013

This book moves at a fast pace, but it works. I wish the New 52 Shazam would take this approach I love the story, but it moves too slowly (its been over a year and Shazam hasnt fought Black Adam). An origin story needs to move at an acceptable pace or it fades out. Jeph Loeb accomplishes a respectable origin story over two issues and leaves a cliffhanger that warrants a purchase of issue #3.

Regular Show #1

May 21, 2013

I highly recommend picking this book up if you adore the show. Its just plain fun. The only drawback is the lack of content. For a first issue, I expected it to be jammed with more pages oh well!

Superior Spider-Man (2013) #5

The Superior Spider-Man continues to impress me, and with Green Goblin lurching around the corner and Spider-Ocks power growing, its going to be an interesting few months.

Thor: God of Thunder #6

Mar 18, 2013

Overall I enjoyed this issue quite a bit. I enjoyed the writing for most part as I felt real sympathy for Gorr. He is a tragic character who suffered more than any being should. Butch Guices art is solid, but underwhelming compared to Esbad Ribics beautifully textured visuals that feel like theyre about to come to life.

Ultimate Comics Spider-Man (2011) #22

Apr 29, 2013

Once our hero reaches the hospital, he faces Venom head on, just like Mara Hill told him toowait! Hold on! Just let me scan this issue for a minuteah! No Miles, she said dont face Venom head on. This arc ends with someone receiving a real nasty bad boo-boo. We also discover who Venoms host is (I didnt even think their was a host). This event sets up the next issue called Never Again a tribute to Spider-Man No More.
